It's time to Disco! (top 5 week 51)

Real Nice - Oooo! (LNM023)

Love not Money Records first welcomed the Real Nice lads to Love Not Money back in december last year with their killer collaboration 'Had Enough' alongside fellow Oxford due Cubiq. The track went on to hit the dizzy heights of No.2 in Beatport's Nu-Disco chart and was featured on Pete Tongs essential selection, not forgetting plays from the likes of Solomun & Art Department to name but a few.
Now they're back and getting the party started with their latest single 'Oooo!', serving up a thundering sub-bass-line with stacks of attitude backed with a hypnotic RnB'esque vocal loop and skipping highs giving this one plenty of old school flavour. Spacey pads swirl and cascade in and around the drops paving the way for the unforgettable vocal sample 'Oooo!' and several other carefully selected vocal snippets. The tracks been causing quiet a stir on the capital's underground scene and now we bring it to the masses.
Away from the studio the lads have been busy putting on some of London's best parties. Joining forces with the powerhouse promotion E.T.A has seen them rapidly build a fan-base of followers who come together to create the electric atmosphere at every sell-out party. On the production front keep your ears peeled for additional releases coming up on Nervous Records.

Make Or Break - In The Spirit EP (LNM022)

Love Not Money Records are back and after their last few releases touched on more late-night tip from acclaimed producers Nobody Knows, Mahony & BOg, Him_Self_Her and Crosstown Rebels artists Fosky, all of which hit the Beatport top 100 they are picking up the pace a little and have an EP packed full of straight-up, no nonsense House from Manchester based artist Make Or Break.
They first introduced Make Or Break to the label with his track 'Surrender' on their 'Miami Sampler' back in March which went on to be one of the stand-out tracks of the release. They then featured him again on their 'New Love Vol.2' compilation with deep house groover 'The Rhythm'. After both tracks picked up major support from the likes of Audiojack and Davide Squillace they asked him to do an EP for them and he has not disappointed...
On remix duties they've drafted in Jordan (UK), a talented young producer who first caught the attention of Noir Music with his track 'Love You More' which was featured on Noir's 'Use Your Ears' compilation. The track gained support and radio plays from Noir himself among many other respected DJ's. With Jordan (UK) becoming another promising producer to be based in Leeds, getting him onboard Love Not Money was an obvious choice.
They're not gonna bore you with in depth descriptions of big beats, pumping basslines and hypnotic synths, just click play, turn up the volume and let the music do the talking!

CP Connection feat. Mark Nigrelli - Manipulate (LNM020)

CP Connection is the new moniker of Peter May and dance music veteran Chris Scott who's early success as part of 90's UK top 10 band Happy Clappers has led to him having years of experience touring the globe and producing as both Happy Clappers, Lexicon Avenue and Echomen. Here they've joined forces with Mark Nigrelli on vocals and turned out 'Manipulate' a track bound to cause a stir among the underground heads and hit the Deep House scene like a hammer! They get to work with electro synth lines riding over the huge rolling bassine backed up with sharp percussion elements. Oozing with groovy melodies and funk this heads up the release with full force.
On remix duties we've drafted in Bournemouth based DJ/Producer Charlie Banks, the 19 year old has already made an auspicious entry into the house scene with a chart topping EP on Berlin's Dirt Crew Recording's, an EP for ever on-point house label Hypercolour, as well as various remixes including one for Irish housemasters Jet Project, all the time aiming to hone his own individual and recognisable production voice amongst a sea of sound-alikes. His passions lay with bumpy house of the sort Julio Bashmore and Huxley have perfected recently, with more garage and bass influences. Here he has followed suit and complimented the original well but with added elements of Acid house thrown into the mix for good measure.
Rounding off the release is CP Connections 'Deadhead' mix, a deep, dubby late-night affair with a real outro feel to it, the perfect contrast to finish the EP on.

Nobody Knows - Breakdown EP (LNM019 )

For their next release, taking things a little deeper, LNM Records ha've recruited the two Mexicans Yeyo Deante & Yoza White, better known as the duo 'Nobody Knows', part of the exciting new breed of electronic artists that are emerging from the country. We're proud to have them join 'Love Not Money Records' with their speaker shaking 'Breakdown EP'.
With lead track 'Breakdown', the guys deliver another trademark melodic masterpiece. Hypnotic bass tones, groovy shuffled percussion and a deep haunting vocal with a real 80's feel to it makes a wonderfully warm dancefloor trip, proving once again why the duo are on the rise this year and deemed 'ones to watch' by an array of big labels.
An altogether punchier and moodier rework by early LNM signing Kreature, comes in like a nighttime yin to the original's yang. Craftily using the original's vocal hook with a more subtle approach, Kreature exercise his easily identifiable style, that combines dark electronic elements with a killer driving bassline. Already his work has been recognised and supported by the likes of Art Department and the Hot Creations crew, this simmering remix pays homage to the original well yet gives fans of the more head-down style an alternative.
On the B-side 'My Love For You' grabs your attention with the instantly recognisable vocal hook from the classic 'Alright' by Red Carpet. This perfect peak time weapon is engineered to lock you in the groove with a huge bouncing bassline, spacey pads and menacing siren type stabs. This is a smash right here - best of global daytime parties be warned!
Rounding of the EP is the remix from 'Toucan'. Another duo hot on the heels of Global success, this time from the paradise city of Rio De Janeiro. These two first caught our attention with huge tracks like 'Sky' and 'Twenty-2' both of which gained massive support on the underground House scene so it was an obvious choice to ask them to do a mix for us and they have not disappointed. A somewhat more relaxed approach that utilizes the parts well while catering for a more late-night dance-floor. Stripped back and more moody than the original but still packing a mighty punch!

Released worldwide 8th October

BBC Radio 1 In New DJs We Trust - Julio Bashmore Mix

George Holliday - Never Gonna Grow (LNM017)

As the Love Not Money imprint reaches release #17, it's still tough to pin point the labels signature sound. A melting pot of imagination and tastes focusing more on making sure each release purveys quality music from across the board.
Next up is something a little different from the multi-talented George Holliday. With the original here being somewhat of a down tempo 'James Blake-esque' experimental track, not something we would usually sign, but when LNM artists and good friend's of George, Cubiq gave us the heads-up and supplied us with a storming remix that completely went against everything the original stands for it was obvious how well these parts could be utilised, so we made a few call's and followed suit with remixes from well known artist Giom and label boss Luke Pompey.
Now George Holliday is better known as a jazz pianist with an ambition to compose stylish pop. Alongside his chosen career path writing film scores, his music has brought him opportunities to work with many artists, thus bringing him arena gigs and even the chance to support the likes of Jessie J and Rizzle Kicks. The future for George is looking bright as he pursues many different angles of music from the George Holliday Trio through to his upcoming funk album due late 2012. 'Never Gonna Grow' is from his 2011 Winter EP and is a fine example of George's song-writing ability.

On remixes duties we have drafted in the world renounced talent of Giom. In a very short space of time Giom has become one of the most highly sought after producers, remixers and DJs in the deep house scene and has gone on to work with labels including Om Records, Ornate, Lo:Rise, Defected and LCG Music, providing both original music and remixes for artists including Fred Everything, Jay-J and LawnChair Generals. Not forgetting his long-term partnership with one of the biggest labels in the House scene right now... 'Lost My Dog'. His remix is a somewhat hypnotising and constantly evolving piece with lush pad's and dreamy synth lines, making great use of the vocal and proving graciously why the man is so in demand.
Finishing of the release nicely is a long-overdue remix from label boss Luke Pompey. With the label on course to hit 22 releases between the course of 2012 it's understandable the Luke has hardly had any time at all to get in to the studio but when he does the outcome is always something special. The result is a sun-drenched Nu-Disco affair driven by a pumping bassline, warm pads and a funk-laden groove that does not quit. Out of the three, this remix doesn't stray too far away from the original with amazing use of the part's, utilising the Rhode's to every inch of it's existence.
As the UK summer finally makes an appearance this EP is a fine accompaniment to any out door party, festival or nightclub and another stellar release from the LNM stable.
